Let’s Talk About: Delays, Coffee and Ranting

9:32 AM

When people said: “Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting” – they were probably in the middle of an outrageous wait for a flight, which they’re not even sure if it’s going to be just delayed or cancelled.

If we can all agree with one thing here: delays really suck. Even if you’re good at waiting, there’s no doubt having to stick in one place for additional number hours will really drive your furious levels from 2 to 10 (a total escape crasher!). Even more so if you have a tight connection, then that would put a few more additional points to your f-meter - I thank god that I haven’t experienced that!

But seriously tiger, never ever loose your temper when in the middle of a delayed flight- it’s like asking the heavenly bodies to charter a special flight for you! And besides, a few hours of stares, whispers and slight-humiliation from fellow passengers definitely does not compensate to a few minutes of ranting.

I suggest you do some “shaking”- Stand up, head over to the nearest Starbucks and reload yourself with some cheap-ass caffeine. After all, you deserve it! Let’s just hope there’s Starbucks in your location… Or else you have to just settle for some canned coffee (which is still much better than those complimentary 7-11 snack giveaways).

But in my opinion, the best way to endure a crazy, daunting, nerve-wracking delay is to just keep yourself occupied- do some work! Or listen to some laid-back music on your headphones and clear your mind while everyone around you is going insane.

Remember: Stay, classy. That’s the trick.

Have you ever been in a crazy, daunting, nerve-wracking delay? Let’s talk about it!

    1. That is so true!! Actually, the idea of Passport Out came about when I had a 10-hour delay in Kota Kinabalu Airport a few months ago. I really think delays can make certain emotions come out and that's what makes it interesting :) Hope you reached Praha safely!
