Detalles # 1: Jetty (What to do in Gaya Island?)
1:05 AM
Location: Sabah, Malaysia
Its crazy how a simple five to eight minute boat ride can take you somewhere "out of this world" kind of silent and serene. You might think its impossible (I did too!) till I experienced it exactly two weeks ago in Gaya Island Resort in Malaysia.
This is the boat I took to the resort's private beach called Tavajun Bay. For a place just five-minutes away from an already peaceful place, it feels a bit surreal to find a place even more peaceful; just pure silence and sunshine, as if it's happening in another planet.
The resort can arrange a private lunch for you in the powdery white sand which makes it even more beautiful. Imagine: a glass of wine + the amazing scenery = what could get any more better than that?!
As you sail back into the main resort, why not stretch it even more and take the sunset cruise aboard the Lumba Lumba? (availability upon request, RM500) Usually couples take this opportunity to just chill and have a glass of champagne while enjoying the mix of sunset sun colors with the late bluish colors of the afternoon. But let's be real, for us on the forever alone side, with a little dressing-up on the side and a bit of humor, you could go a long way buddy. After all, you didn't dress-up for nothing!
But really, all you really have to do here is slow down; I'm sure you came from a fast-paced lifestyle and being here will make you feel how fast you're moving and without noticing, you're already too far from things that's more worth your while. So sit back, relax, read a book and slow-down. That's what you've got to do (and that's a command!)
